UNRIC and UNICEF Portugal joined a group of Portuguese public figures in creating the #WhiteWindowForٱƵapp movement. All people and institutions are invited to participate in this initiative with a simple gesture: hanging a white cloth on the window at home, or at the workplace, in a visible way.
This global action consists of replacing the contents of every screen in the world (public and private, big and small) for 5 minutes mostly at midnight with the image, in video, of a lit candle glowing. No words, no logos, no political or religious associations.

At 11am a bugle-call for peace will be played. FirstٱƵapp has been composed by Sally Beamish for the ٱƵappBugle project. As part of International Bugles, it is hoped that FirstٱƵapp will be played on all continents. The mission of the EMIR Healing Center is to advocate, educate, and support individuals, families, and communities affected by homicide and violent crimes. This event will include food, music, drumming, artwork and more.
