The Secretary-General鈥檚 Advisory Board, UNDEF's main governing mechanism, is composed of those members who have made the largest seven cumulative financial contributions to the Fund over the previous three years; six UN Member States reflecting geographical diversity; two international civil society organizations; and three individuals serving in a personal capacity. The Advisory Board provides policy guidance to the Secretary-General on the development of programme frameworks and funding guidelines, and recommends funding proposals for his approval. The Programme Consultative Group serves as UN inter-agency mechanism that provides expert advice.
